Oxycodone




Oxycodone, also known as OxyContin is a central nervous system depressant. Oxycodone's action appears to work through stimulating the opioid receptors found in the central nervous system that activate responses ranging from analgesia to respiratory depression to euphoria.

What Oxycodone looks like:

Oxycodone is distributed in tablet form in a variety of colors, but can be crushed into a powder. It is also watersoluable, so it can also be in liquid form.

  • Ingested orally

  • Snorted

Short term effects:

  • Constipation
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Sweating
  • Hypotension
  • Respiratory arrest
  • Respiratory depression
  • Circulatory depression
  • Shock
  • Seizures

Long term effects:

  • Depression
  • Drug craving
  • Death
  • Anxiety
  • HIV/AIDS due to dirty needles
  • Liver failure
  • Kidney failure
