|cRAIGHEAD cOUNTY juvenile detention
| The Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center provides 24 hour 7 day a week juvenile detention services to all surrounding counties for juveniles between the ages of 10 and 17 years of age. Referrals are accepted statewide as space is available; however the target population of Craighead County will receive first priority. Referrals are accepted from juvenile or municipal courts, intake officers, and law enforcement agencies. The Detention Center has a maximum capacity of 62 beds 32 males, 28 females and 2 isolation cells overseen by the Juvenile Director, and Juvenile Detention Officers. Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center offers an education program under the supervision of the Jonesboro Public School system. The program is funded through the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education Division at no cost to Craighead County or the Jonesboro School System. Four full-time certified teachers provide educational services to students throughout the year, including through the summer months. The goal of the educational program is to have students continue their education while incarcerated.
