Sheriff Marty Boyd and Jail Administrator Cpt. Keith Bowers have announced they are actively seeking applicants to fill the volunteer position of Jail Chaplain. Applicants need only the heart to tend to the spiritual needs of jail inmates by encouraging and counseling inmates. Formal education or ordination is not required. Computer skills and organization are a plus.
Tasks will include:
- Administrative tasks (including answering requests from the inmates on the computer)
- Pastoral Counseling
- Coordinate volunteer services
- Oversee religious services
- Supervise other clergy and volunteers

Craighead County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol:
The Craighead County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol is looking for applicants for a new fresh start-up of this division. Commander Rick Davis is asking for persons to apply that hold a good knowledge of horsemanship and have the time and equipment to form an elite division of the Craighead County Sheriff's Department to assist in Search and Rescue.
