17th Annual R.A.I.D. Supports D.A.R.E. Girls Softball Tournament

The Craighead County Sheriff's Department has a "DARE Officer" that is in charge of teaching 5th graders of the downside of drug and alcohol use. This consists of 6 school districts in Craighead County and 1 in Mississippi County.
Every year for the past 17 years a local organization called Residents Against Illegal Drugs or "R.A.I.D." sponsors the "R.A.I.D. Supports D.A.R.E. Softball Tournament for girls 14 and under. This annual event brings in the money for the Sheriff's Department to teach the D.A.R.E. program in our schools and also funds 2 Criminology Scholarships at Arkansas State University. This event is held at the Jonesboro Southside Softball Complex and this past weekend hosted 42 teams from 4 different states. Every child will leave with his own personal trophy. Team trophies in each age division are as follows:
8 and under:
1st Place Ballhogs from Jonesboro
2nd Place Atlas Heat from Jonesboro
3rd Place Fat City Angels Bewley from Jonesboro
10 and under:
1st place Southaven Mississippi Illusions
2nd place Southaven Mississippi Blue Angels
3rd place Fat City Angels 05 from Jonesboro
12 and under:
1st place Southaven Mississippi Blue Angels Kelly
2nd place Arkansas Chaos from Jonesboro
3rd place Arkansas Fierce from Jonesboro
14 and under:
1st place Fireballs from Jonesboro
2nd place Lady Titans 00 from Jonesboro
3rd place Red Hots from Paragould
