Westside Warrior PD Club with their sponsors and Sheriff Marty Boyd

Thursday, October 20, 2016, the Westside Warrior PD Club was able to tour the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center in order to gain a better understanding of the daily workings of law enforcement and the justice system. These 7th graders are all interested in pursuing a career in the criminal justice system, and this club is a way for them to meet with their peers to foster their goals. The Warrior PD Club is sponsored by Middle School Counselor, Amanda Etter and School Resource Officer Joey Graham. The club was able to have a question and answer session with Sheriff Marty Boyd. It was clear these kids understood the need for law enforcement when one said, “Crime never takes a day off.” These are tomorrow’s deputies, detention officers, attorneys, and judges, or maybe one of thousands of support staff within the system that makes it work. Good luck to you all!
